France is ready to share its technological solutions and experiences with India to partner its ambitious smart city project, said French consul general in Puducherry Philippe Janvier Kamiyama.
He was speaking at the French National Day (Bastille Day) celebrations at the French consulate on Monday. “France welcomes the Indian proposal to become a partner for smart cities’ development programme and is ready to implement its best technological solutions and to share its experience in the field of sustainable cities particularly in terms of urban planning, urban networks, water and sanitation and mobility and digital technologies,” he said.
He was of the opinion that the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative will provide great opportunities for the French institutions and companies.
He said France and India have been insisting on reforms in the United Nations particularly in its security council. He pointed out that France has been reiterating its support for India’s candidature for permanent membership of the council. As part of the Bastille Day celebration, the French Consulate arranged a spectacular display of fireworks that lit up the Puducherry skyline.
