Usage of Big Data is widespread in recent times for analytical purposes across different fields. Technology firm RailYatri.in on Tuesday said it has launched a new Big Data-based application to provide insights into Indian Railways and answer crucial queries from its users related to railways’ operations.
According to the company, the application provides insights from train traveler data spread across hundreds of meta-data fields and behavioural information sources. It is structured to provide quick turnarounds for complex train travel queries, enabling train travelers and travel businesses to drill deeply into travel patterns across all corners of India.
The Big Data-based application has used data from more than 50 million travelers over the last few years across 8,000 train stations and more than 2,000 train routes.
Over the next few months, RailYatri will also extend the Insights tool with additional visualizations which would mine additional travel-related behavior in India, the company said.
