The International HPC Training Consortium is conducting a workshop entitled “Second SC Workshop on Best Practices for HPC Training” to be held at the SC15 Conference on Monday, November 16, 2015 from 9 AM to 12:30 PM in the Hilton Austin hotel in room 412.
The goal of this workshop is to bring together individuals from HPC Centers from all countries to share expertise and best practices for in-person, web-based and asynchronous HPC training for the community on HPC skills.
As observed during SC14 Conference held at New Orleans last year, a number of HPC Centers organized a workshop on HPC training. The level of engagement from among the international community during SC14 encouraged a number of people to conduct regular conference calls to continue to share information. This group formed an informal consortium of organizations working together to enhance HPC training that we refer to as the International HPC Training Consortium.
At this year’s SC15 workshop, the plan is to conduct three short presentations; each will be followed by in-depth discussion with the audience. The goal of the workshop is to foster collaborative activities that members of the International HPC Training Consortium may pursue throughout the following year. Monthly calls will follow to allow the consortium members to work through topics of common interest.
The workshop agenda is available at https://sites.google.com/a/lbl.gov/hpc-training-best-practices/. The web space is also being used to support ongoing collaborations among the International HPC Training Consortium.
We offer the following ways to become involved:
Individuals from your organization are encouraged to attend the SC15 workshop on Monday, November 16, 2015.
Submitting the names of people from your organization to be added to the International HPC Training Consortium mailing list so that we may keep people within your organization informed about HPC training efforts. This mailing list will be a closed list and will not be shared with anyone else.
Individuals from your organization are welcome to join in the monthly International HPC Training Consortium conference calls to discuss HPC training challenges, opportunities and lessons learned.
