Hyderabad Is Going To Host India’s First Centre of Excellence In Big Data

Hyderabad is going to host India’s first centre of excellence in big data and analytics shortly, involving an investment of Rs 10 crore, to be dedicated for government sanctioned projects, said Department of Science and Technology’s advisor and head of big data initiatives Dr KR Murali Mohan.

“We are exploring three different models for the Centre of Excellence – one which will work on pure government model, one set up by industry association and the third will be a PPP model. Depending on the success of each model, we will scale up the rest of the facilities,” said Dr Murali Mohan.

He added that while both state and central government collect a repertoire of data, the gap in analyses and adoption of new technology will be filled by the Centres of Excellence.
