New domains such as big data and predictive analytics are set to dominate the recruitment industry, says TeamLease Services’ Employment Outlook Report for the half year (HY1) period from April to September 2015. While on one hand, these domains are accelerating the need for a highly sophisticated workforce; IT, engineering and blue collar jobs will also be in demand.
Start-ups and Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) are emergent trends associated with rapidly increasing scale of hiring. Job growth would continue to remain strong at 11.3 per cent, says the report, while business and employment outlook also show a significant year-on-year increase.
Citywise, Mumbai and Delhi continue to showcase exuberance in business and hiring, while Chennai’s growth is restricted only to business. Pune has registered a three point increase in hiring.
Hiring in the current half year will be spearheaded by medium and large businesses. From a functional perspective, sales & marketing seems to have lost its sheen in the employment market. The focus seems to be on IT & engineering and blue collar opportunities. Further, though the sluggishness has not affected the metros and Tier-1 cities, they seem to have impacted Tier- 2 cities. Hiring from tier 2 towns is expected to fall by two points in the current half year.
