Data center availability specialist Veeam announced two products—FastSCP for Microsoft Azure and Management Pack (MP) v8 for Microsoft System Center—to help customers adopt Microsoft’s hybrid cloud as part of their IT strategy.FastSCP is designed to simplify and accelerate the use of a hybrid cloud, a free tool that provides simple file copy between on-premises and Azure-based virtual machines (VMs) and transfers data over HTTPS, thus not requiring a virtual private network (VPN) tunnel between the on-premises deployment and Azure.
“Through our tight integration with Azure, Veeam is able to deliver solutions that help our partners extend their business models and deliver the promise of hybrid cloud-helping customers easily transition to the Cloud,” says Doug Hazelman, Vice President of Product Strategy, Veeam.
“Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure is a perfect example of Veeam’s investment in the growth of the Azure ecosystem, and our continuing efforts to deliver ground-breaking innovations to the IT community.”
Veeam Management Pack v8 for Microsoft System Center is the latest version of the company’s monitoring, alert management and reporting solution with support for additional hypervisor platforms and new hybrid cloud planning tools, according to the announcement. New capabilities include the ability to send a high-level report view of a company’s virtual infrastructure with statistics for achieved densities, as well as enhanced analytics of on-premise workloads and predictions to help companies appropriate the correct IaaS resources for their system. Veeam MP v8 also extends reporting to Azure-based backups managed by Veeam Cloud Connect for Service Providers.
